Initial Idea – My initial idea is to have an two interviews. Which are similar, but not the same as the Soccer AM interviews called “Teammates 2.0”. I thought I could have own version of my own version where I have Charlie and Troy talk about their classmates and answer questions about them.
New – I am taking a new approach to this FMP, as it is very important because it the last project of the course and the one we are graded on for our final grade overall. Last year I planned for my FMP very well as had a solid idea of what I wanted to do and how I wanted to film it, however I spent too long planning and then I had to slightly rush my film, leading to it not being the very best it could have been. So for this year, I have carefully planned out how I am going to do it so I can fully focus on getting my film the best it can be. Another new approach I am going to take is to find the soundtrack of my film first and then film the footage around that, this is a technique I have learned from Quentin Tarantino and I used it well in my New Waves film.
Specialism – For this FMP and in general I am interested in the cinematography side of the project as I like camera operating. I also like working with actors and seeing the different kind of shots I can.
Person – Quentin Tarantino is someone who has had an inspiration on this project as I am directing incorporating one of his techniques that he is well known for. I am using his technique where I select the song before filming, that way I can be sure that the film and soundtrack match nicely.
Image – This image is from the Soccer A.M. interview, this is the theme and style I am basing my film on. The way the questions are displayed as big title cards and and they have close ups of the footballers while the question is on screen.
Reading – This is a news article from Soccer A.M where they ask Eden Hazard about his teammates. This inspired me because it looked very informative and it lets the viewer get to know Hazard as a person and see his personality. I want my film to be informative because my aim is to let the viewers get to know my subject in a more detailed way, I hope to achieve this in my film.
Artwork – This picture of Felipe Anderson is the style I’m going for. I am going to experiment with the big text headers and the body shots and maybe some close ups.
Technique – I want to explore a number of techniques. As I have never used slow motion in any of my previous film, I want to try it in this film when the question headers are being shown. I also want to explore and experiment with the lightning and shine it on different areas of the face.
Impact – I want my film to have an impact on the viewers, in the sense that they will get to know the people I’m interviewing.
Object –
Necessary – My project is necessary to make because I want to try out different techniques and experiment with equipment. This will help me to gain experience in the media industry.
