This is my first time making a mockumentary, so I was welcome to any tips and help I could get. I did some research on how to make a successful mockumentary and I found the following:

Research is imperative and I need to know everything there is to know about my subject, this is good for me because I already know Charlie and Troy very well. Then I need to find out what is funny about them both and use it to my advantage in the film. This was the reason I picked them both, because they are both naturally funny.
I also learned that a dry sense of humour is key and the jokes and humour need to be subtle and written so the viewers will think they are watching a documentary. I also need to make sure my characters are likeable. This was again a good choice to have Charlie and Troy because they get on with everyone in the class. I made sure to pick likeable friendly people so the audience will like them to and they will stay engaged.
I was advised to watch as many famous mockumentary films and TV shows to help me get the scenes and pacing right so I did just that. For films I looked at Forgotten Silver and TV series I looked at The Office, Modern Family and American Vandal.
I learned that my cast members should keep the setting realistic and natural by not trying to force jokes and be overly funny my two cast members are natural fits for these roles so I shouldn’t have problem with that.
