American Vandal

American Vandal is an American mockumentary web television series created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda.

It was premiered on Netflix on September 15, 2017. The series is a parody of true crime documentaries such as Serial. The first season follows the result of a high school prank that left 27 faculty cars stained with phallic images. Dylan Maxwell is accused of the crime by the school and expelled, but an investigation into the incident is launched by Peter Maldonado, with help from his friend Sam Ecklund, to uncover if Dylan was the one who did it. The second season follows Peter and Sam as they investigate a new crime at a Catholic private high school after their lemonade becomes contaminated with maltitol by someone calling themselves “The Turd Burglar”

This mockumentary is slightly different to regular mockumentaries as it isn’t necessarily a documentary with humour added to it, but rather a TV show. It has elements of a documentary with there sometimes being narration and interview with the characters
