Soundtrack Choices

There were different soundtracks that I could have used. I have listed them here and identified the pros and cons of each option. I ended up going with Hollywood Swinging by Kool and The Gang as I thought it would match the best. This is also the track that is used in the majority of the Teammates 2.0 videos.

1.) Hollywood Swinging by Kool and The Gang

Pros: This soundtrack is positive and upbeat and it feels the style that I want. The instruments used have a happy feel to it which will help the audience stay engaged throughout.

Cons: However the soundtrack needs to have the correct sound levels put onto it due to the general soundtrack being loud. I have done this in the past where I have had the wrong sound levels, and it results in the dialogue been covered by the music.

2.) Oliver Cheatham – Get Down Saturday Night

Pros: The soundtrack has good sound levels, meaning it would be easier to edit with. It is also nice and relaxed so it won’t overwhelm the film.

Cons: The soundtrack will not match well with all of the scenes as most of the scenes are meant to be comical and will require an upbeat soundtrack. For example this soundtrack would definitely clash with the scene with Charlotte and Michaela fighting over the chair. So a more upbeat song would probably be better to use.

3.) Jr. Walker & The All-Stars – Shotgun

Pros: This is also a nice and calm tune. I could maybe use it in some parts of the film or maybe in Charlie’s interview as the scenes for his answers are generally calmer than Troy’s. So I would just change songs for the different interview.

Cons: The song may be a bit outdated to use. As it was made released in 1965. It might possibly feel out of place in my film.
