Throughout my film I have numerous different scenes that I away cut to. The scenes have to do with the answer that is given by Troy or Charlie. For example when Troy talks about who likes to hog wheels chairs the most, he gives his answer about Charlotte caring the most and we cut to the scene of Charlotte having a fight with Rory over the last chair with wheels. Charlotte ultimately wins that fight and even taunts Rory. I tried to film the cutaways to match with what was being said by the interviewee.
What I chose to do was split the cutaways into separate scenes rather than have it all play at once because I wanted it to spread out throughout the whole answer. This way The audience would remain interested throughout the whole answer.
When I showed Fay what I was doing she said that some things might not work this way. I need some clips to be played as one because it might ruin the continuity.
In particular the scene where Charlie arrives late the scene is split and Fay suggested that I play all as one because it might not make sense but I managed to edit it in a way that made sense.
Filming the cutaways was the most fun bit of filming as they were the most humorous part of the film and the most important. My favourite one is the scene with Charlotte and Rory because it is the funniest and I have some nice shots.
My least favourite one is the scene where we talk about Rory’s outfit because there wasn’t much I could do with it. So I just ended up filming different areas of his outfit. It was still funny thanks to Charlie’s answers but overall probably the least humorous.
Even though I was focused on all aspects of my film, I was more focused about the cutaways as they were the main bit that people are going to be interested in even if the interview wasn’t necessarily interesting the cutaways would make up for it.
