When it came to filming my general interviews, to make sure that it looked the best, I filmed it in 1080p (Full HD). But for my cutaways I wanted them to be in slow motion, and in order to do that I had to film in a higher frame rate. But there wasn’t an option to film in 1080p 50 frames a second. So I had to film in 720p for the cutaways.
I didn’t think this would be a issue when it came to editing in Premiere. But for some reason at times the system could not handle having two different qualities of film footage in the same timeline. This meant I had to create a new timeline to edit the cutaways and then export them in 1080p, and then add them back into the film. This was a bit time-consuming and something I didn’t expect.
However, for some of the cutaways, they would still freeze when played back even after being exported.
I had to ask James what the issue was. He informed me that some other students have been having the same problem, and it had to be solved by logging out of your personal account and logging back in as student user. When I did this everything was fine and I was able to edit two different qualities in the same timeline.
I could then save it in student user on the local storage and log back into my personal account once it was finished. So this is what I had to do for the remainder of editing.
Then once I rendered the film. Everything was ok.
