Once I finish making my film, I took the time to review my location choices. I started off with the first interview which was Troy’s.
I thought his interview turned out amazing, it was the one that everybody really complimented and really liked. The role of thirds, and all composition techniques had been done well. Even the lighting was good which is key to my interview being interesting and engaging. The only slight issue was Troy looking at me and then looking at Charlie which meant that when he was looking at Charlie he created a lot of wasted space. I wasn’t aware of this at the time but I didn’t feel it was a big enough issue to re-shoot, neither did anyone else.
While Charlie’s interview looked good, it didn’t look as good as Troy’s. This was not down to the camera settings or anything that we did. It was down to the location that I chose. The location I chose has really long windows, which lets in a lot of sunlight which can ruin a shot. All this meant was that I had to edit it in Adobe Premiere, which I did and made the shot look good.
I could’ve chose a different location for Charlie, due to the fact that my original location wasn’t available but, most of the places in the college I had to get a signature from the person that owned the room. Some places I wanted to that film we are just out right unavailable or not suitable. So I had to settle and make the best of the situation.
